Last day in Mallorca: Algaida

Our last day started with discomfort and pain: I finally got a shot in my knee that should kill the pain. Yesterday the orthopedist showed us the MRI that confirmed that the meniscus is torn. Unfortunately all the bits and pieces didn’t end up in the front of the knee behind the kneecap, where an arthroscopic surgery would be done, but in the back of the knee, where no surgery is possible. The only possible treatment is a shot in the knee, that should be repeated every 6 months. Usually they would recommend steroids, but unfortunately I’m allergic to cortisone…

As a little treat afterwards Ted and I drive to Algaida where we had lunch. We parked one block away from the town plaza and „collected“ all those shots from door knockers on our way back to the car…

  1. Good morning (here). Your knee seems like good news — bad news.   My personal experience with a torn meniscus is a lot more good than bad.  I’ll tell you the whole story some time.   Basically I was able to play basketball and snow ski for years with my torn meniscus.   I also know someone with a torn meniscus who had one cortisone shot that lasted for years.   So I’m thinking the future of your knee could be good.   Plus it seems like you don’t have any serious ligament tears.   More good news. Where next ?
