Sicily – Stromboli Arrival

Today is hydrofoil day: we took a morning ship from Milazzo to Lipori and from there to Stromboli. Ted was all excited about the hydrofoil, but – other than previous experiences, he didn’t just run off towards the action. He stayed with me the entire time!

It was a beautiful boat ride, with a few stops in-between.

And here we are, in Stromboli! Our hotel is right next to the beach (which is black!)

And the food in the restaurant? Delicious!!! I’m trying to catch up on salad now; my digestion is very thankful!

And tonight we’re taking a boat tour around the island to see the volcano. Btw, Stromboli is the most active volcano in the world…..

Sicily – Milazzo & Stromboli

We stayed at Hotel Medici, a family run little hotel one block away from the harbor promenade.

Beautiful trompe l’oeil ceiling in the dining room

Milazzo is a great little town, castle on top of the hill, harbor, ferry boats and excursion ships to the Aegean islands. Good restaurants and lots of gelato places. That’s all we need!
