Our last stay happen to surprise us with being the most beautiful hillside town I’ve ever seen – Taormina! I already know that I do want to come back and explore more – with more time and better knees 😬

Since we arrived in the late afternoon, we only strolled along the main street in old town, discovering so many beautiful views; Mount Aetna on one side, the Italian mainland with millions of glittering lights on the other. This town is a gem!

This is a place where Italiens spend their vacation. Hardly any tourist from other countries are here; the usual mix of tall Dutch people, pink Brit’s with lots of tattoos, loud Americans and of course those Germans, who happen to be everywhere, is missing. No, here in Taormina are stylish Italians. Everywhere! Leather sandals, linen outfits, an appropriate amount of skin, matching accessories, I just love the casual elegance. Italians know how to dress!
